For more than 200 years the original Becherovka recipe hasn't changed. Most importantly, it has remained a secret. And it will stay that way. Well, with one exception. The limited edition of four labels will unveil part of the original, secret recipe, showing you herbs and seasoning that have been part of the legendary recipe since its inception. Starting in March, three of these labels will be available for purchase. The fourth will be available exclusively at Jan Becher Museum.
So what makes Becherovka taste so delectable? Composed of an array of well-mixed, high quality products, Becherovka creates a perfect harmony amongst the finest ingredients on the market. The drink features more than 20 herbs and spices from Czech land itself, as well as from the country side of distant lands. This harmonic mix of Becherovka is known by only two people in the whole world, both of whom are bound to secrecy for the rest of their lives.
One of these masterminds is the head of production, Bohuslav Pich. Every Wednesday he locks himself in a special room, where the magic behind the production of the famed drink takes place. What happens in the next four to five hours is the result of a combination of both pharmaceutical and physical work. During this time, he carefully mixes and weighs four batches of the mixture. Each one of them consists of 400 kg of herbs.
